If you read my previous post, you will know that my students have been hard at work preparing for the Paper 1 case study exam. They spent about two class periods researching the festival industry post COVID-19, how solar panels are used at music festivals and innovation in the industry.
They came up with some interesting facts like:
Festivals in the UK generate 25,800 tons of waste per year and 68% of waste ends up in a landfill
Bamboo cutlery is non-toxic and chemical-free, so it is safer to use than wood or plastic, and is is antimicrobial.
A large music festival could consume up to 300,000 megawatts of power over a weekend - the same as a small city.
The cost of solar power has significantly decreased in recent years, making it more accessible (it is the cheapest energy source)
Solar power use is increasing by 20% a year
Now that they have spent time learning about the music festival industry, bamboo cutlery, and solar power, it is not time to combine this knowledge with their theoretical knowledge from the course and practice with real case studies.
I have made three practice papers for them. We will probably do two-timed papers in class and leave one for them to practice at home over the spring holidays if they feel like they need more practice. It includes a full and detailed markscheme for each question and tests a variety of syllabus topics.
You can buy it here from my shop. Let me know if you have any questions in the comment section.
